Lobdell-Bennett Lake Association Volunteer Opportunities
The LBLA Board has several openings on the Board and is in need of volunteers to fill those openings. Volunteers need to be Lobdell, Bennett or Howe lake riparians and members of the Association. The LBLA Board is a completely volunteer organization and is always in need of people willing to help and contribute.
District Representatives - the LBLA Board has openings for District Representatives in District #2 (Mill Pond area) and District #7 (Bennett & Howe Lakes - south of Bennett Lake Road). Responsibilities include attending 7 monthly board meetings, representing their specific districts in all LBLA board matters, communicating LBLA information with their district riparian and volunteering on LBLA Committees where desired.
Social Committee Chair - the LBLA has an opening as chair-person of our Social Committee. Responsibilities include forming an annual social committee, scheduling regular committee meetings and overseeing all social activities for the year (in the past, has included house decorating, boat parade, sponsorships and golf outing).
LBLA Officers - the LBLA recently received the resignations of our Vice President and Secretary. We are in need of filling those positions as soon as possible. The role of the Vice President is a 2-year term and is intended to assist the LBLA President in all matters. The VP should attend all LBLA meetings and lead any activities in the absence of the President. It is also intended for the VP to assume the role of Association President at the conclusion of the President's term. The main responsibilities of the Secretary position are to record and produce minutes for all LBLA Board meetings and to handle external communications involving the LBLA.
Should you have interest in any of these opportunities, please contact Rick Kursik, LBLA President at kursikrick1956@gmail.com or your LBLA District Representative (listed on the LBLA website).
Lobdell & Bennett Lakes Water Level Update - April 6, 2026
We received a tremendous amount of rain over the previous few days. The water levels on both lakes are high but the Argentine primary dam and secondary spillway are open as much as safely possible based upon downstream impact. The amount of precipitation received is evidenced by the significant amount of local flooding and the fact that most area rivers are at or near flood stage. It also should be noted that we are receiving significant amounts of water from the dam openings on Lake Shannon and Parshallville along with new water sources associated with new drainage projects completed for local housing developments (concerns here should be addressed to the Genesee and/or Livingston County Drain Commissions). Provided that we have dry weather over the next several days the lake levels will begin to recede but it will take a few days.

The following posting is the 2025 annual report prepared for Lobdell Lake by Dr. Doug Pullman and his company. Dr. Pullman is our professional lake manager and is a nationally renowned limnologist. He is assisted by AJ Faught who is the chairperson of our Lake Health Management - Weed Treatment Committee.
Thanks to Dr. Pullman and to AJ Faught for their tireless efforts in managing our lakes.
